I am an independent photojournalist based in Missoula, Montana. I received my Master's degree in Journalism from the University of Montana. Following that, I worked a year as the staff photographer and sometimes-designer of the Ravalli Republic, the daily newspaper of Montana's Bitterroot Valley. I have spent time living, working, and studying in Colorado, Indiana, on the coast of Washington, Italy, Japan, and India. I currently freelance for local and regional magazines such as Outside Missoula, Edible Missoula, Montana Outdoors, and Distinctly Montana.
I will be a Peace Corps volunteer in Costa Rica until June 2011 as part of a Master's degree in Intercultural Youth and Family Development. There I will be working with children, youth and families to develop community, cultural, and recreational programs, among other projects. I am hoping to make photography and expressive arts a big part of my work in Costa Rica, exposing these populations to a new way of seeing, creating and discussing important issues through creative mediums.
